Have a great Christmas, everyone! Cheers from the cold and snowy north of the Netherlands!

Seems like I'm doing more cooking for the New Year's Eve party than for Christmas :P speaking of ingredients ;)

I'm still in the same place, just wanted to give the best wishes anyway.

About to go to Ireland again. I'll try to keep in touch. The little 'un's first birthday is imminent.

How's Ireland? I haven't left Wales since October and Ireland may be a fun trip. They've recently restarted a ferry service from Swansea to Cork, but I think I read the ship sustained damage the day before the maiden voyage and they've put it off for a bit.

Ireland is fine - especially today, which happens to be St Patrick's Day. We're hoping to see the parade in Cork this afternoon.

The ferry has had a couple of false starts. Most recently, a bulkhead door somewhere failed to close properly. They've spent ages refitting the ship, which came from somewhere in Scandinavia, so they should be able to iron out these teething troubles.

Sunday I'll be off for two weeks in Krakow, Poland! I know what you're all thinking, but this isn't a holiday. As a matter of fact, it's an actual subject for my studies. I'll take pictures and vodka home with me ;)

I've just returned, and am still more or less healthy! Sorry mate, better luck next time? I'll be in that region again in August.

It was a great trip, but Krakow isn't exactly interesting enough to stay for two whole weeks. Met some interesting people, though.

Definitely holiday - visiting my sister-in-law and her husband. He works for BMW. When they took over and closed down the Rover Group, he was one of a number of English workers who were offered jobs on the continent.

Sounds lovely. Thinking back, I've only ever been to Munich during the Winter, so you'll have to let us know how it is.
