Which fictional character would you love to date? Literature, film, tv, graphic novel, anything goes! Who would you date, and why? Oh, and serial dating is totally acceptable.

Hmm. Fictional character. :-? My imagination has a bit of a problem there, because I can't help associating the fictional characters with the actresses. For example, were I to say "Lady Lyndon", I'd really be thinking about Marisa Berenson. Were I to say "Jessica 6", I'd really be thinking about Jenny Agutter. Were I to say "Rachael", I'd really be thinking about Sean Young. Going back further, were I to say "Mrs Peel", I'd be thinking about Diana Rigg. Were I to say "Lara", I'd be thinking about Julie Christie. Were I to say "Estella", I'd really be thinking about Francesca Annis, in the 1967 BBC version of Great Expectations. :wink:

cool question. a few that spring to mind would qualify, not the typical bombshells

katri horma - vozdushnyy potseluy
nicole kidman - dead calm, bangkok hilton
miranda otto - the two towers, return of the king
isabelle pasco - roslyne et les lions
kyra sedgwick - born on the 4th of july
sissy spacek - the river, carrie
rachel weisz - enemy at the gate, constantine

slighly off-beat beauties with character and stamina?

And again, behind the fictional character you've nominated the real-life actress. How can we get away from that? I know - I want a date with Galadriel as I'd always imagined her before Cate Blanchett took on the film role. (If only I could remember what my Galadriel looked like ... :-? ).

i just mentioned the real life actress for ease of googling. in case you haven't seen movie x with actor/actress y to see what my date would look like.
in each of my examples, id go for the fictional character, no doubt.for instance miranda otto... between her, and her character eowyn; i'd go for the latter. no doubt.

Hehe, the names indeed help for googling. Thanks for putting Kyra Sedgwick in, I always wondered who she was. She has a lovely broad smile, which contrasts wonderfully with her quite 'sharp' nose.

Hmmm, I would like to date..
* Larry Paul, character from Ally Mc Beal, played by Robert Downey Jr.
* the young Dracula, from Bram Stokers Dracula, Gary Oldman ofcourse. A little waltz, a little absinth, and then get the hell out of there.
* Agent Mulder
* Wolverine (not necessarily Hugh Jackman's Wolverine)
* gypsy guitar player Roux from Chocolat (definately Johnny Depp's version)
* Ernesto Guevara by Gael Garcia Bernal
* Special Agent Dale Cooper
* Marc Anthony from Rome
* Jamie Frasier from the Outlander Series
* Crowley from Good Omens

Yeah, I noticed it's difficult to split the actor/actress from the role, but I'm really talking about fictional characters here. I think the actor Wentworth Miller looks hot, but I wouldn't want to date Michael Scofield, that would just result in chaos, running and shooting. Gary Oldman is lovely, but his characters are, usually, total bastards. Val Kilmer's portrayal of Jim Morrison might be okay, because Val himself is supposed to be a prick, and Jim Morrison not really date material, but combined they create a nice fantasy...

Literary characters are hard though. A film/tv character can offer the pretty picture, but in books you have to make 'm for yourself. And they often have lots more troubles and turbulent inner life than movie characters, which sort of ruins the dream date concept. Would I wanna date Mr. Darcy (he will be rude!), or Heathcliff? Well, Heathcliff perhaps - although after a mild brainwash session.

Despite hating Emma with a passion, I think a date with George Knightley is in order.

I feel exactly the same. But hey, you were first.

I'll choose to go on a date with Gilbert Markham (The tenant of wildfell hall) then.
